Ice-filled inlet about 18 mi long, with two branches, indenting the E end of Thurston Island between Lofgren and Tierney Peninsulas. Discovered in helicopter flights from USS Bellingshausen Sea Expedition in February 1960. Named by US-ACAN for Lt. Cdr. Joseph R. Morgan, USN, hydrographic and oceanographic officer of USN Task Force 43 during this expedition. |
