A ridge forming the north-western arm of the Allan Hills. Discovered by the NZARP Allan Hills Expedition (1964). Named after W.H. Tilman, a mountaineering associate of Shipton and Odell, after whom the nearby Shipton Ridge and Odell Glacier were named.

A line of shallow water near Heard Island on which the sea breaks in rough weather. The shoal area extends about 5 kilometres north-east from Spit Point. During the Patanella Expedition, 1965 Tilman, the master of the Patanella, crossed these shoals close inshore to Spit Point during a period of calm weather. The name is proposed in recognition of expertise shown by Tilman as master of the vessel in successfully sailing the ship from Australia to Heard Island and back during that expedition.

An ice dome overlying the borders of the Ross Dependency, the Australian Antarctic Territory and Terre Adélie near the South Pole. It extends east-west and rises to over 3 100 m. The dome was crossed by Amundsen's and Scott's parties on their journeys to the South Pole, 1911-12 and was mentioned as a major ridge rather than as an isolated dome. Mapped by radio echo sounding by the Scott Polar Research Institute.

A steep-sided, flat-topped island, approximately 4 km long and 2 km wide. Situated in the western part of Amundsen Bay. Sighted in October, 1956, by the ANARE Amundsen Bay party led by Peter W. Crohn and named after Lieut. Leslie Tonagh, RAASC, DUKW driver with the ANARE Expedition, 1956. The first landing was made by an ANARE aircraft piloted by Flying Officer J. Seaton in August, 1956.
