Southard, Jnr., Chief of the Office of International Activities, US Geological Survey, who was in charge of USGS field parties that went to Antarctica in 1961-64.

A mountain at the western end of the Athos Range, Prince Charles Mountains, about 2,150 m above sea level. Sighted by an ANARE party led by J.M. Béchervaise on 27 November 1955. Named to commemorate the so-called Operation Starlight during which depots were laid for further work and mapping and geological investigations accomplished.

A mountain about 5.6 km north of Mount Ellery in Oates Land. Mapped from air photographs taken by the US Navy. Named after C.D. Steele who participated in US Operations Deepfreeze III, IV, 61-68 at McMurdo station.

A peak about 1,466 m in height, about 20 km south of the Nicholas Range in Kemp Land. Mapped from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37) and called Storegutt (Big Boy) by Norwegian cartographers.

One of the Tula Mountains, Enderby Land, about 19 km south-east of Mount Riiser-Larsen. First sighted in October 1956 by the ANARE Amundsen Bay party led by Peter W. Crohn.

An outstanding nunatak about 1380 m high, rising above the ice-cap on the western side of the Denman Glacier, 28 km south of Mount Barr Smith in Queen Mary Land. Discovered by the Western Base Party of AAE (1911-14). Named by Sir Douglas Mawson after Lord Strathcona, High Commissioner for Canada in 1911 and a patron of the expedition.

A mountain in the Geologists Range about 26 km south of Mount Fyfe. Plotted by the U.S. Geological Survey from air photographs taken by the U.S. Navy in 1960-62. Named by USACAN after C.H. Summerson, geologist at Mount Weaver in 1962-63.

A prominent pyramidal peak on the northern face of the Aramis Range, Prince Charles Mountains. First visited in December, 1956, by the ANARE southern party led by W G Bewsher. Named after Sgt. G Sundberg, RAAF engine fitter with the Antarctic Flight at Mawson in 1956.
