An ice-covered cape, marked by several rock outcrops with further small outcrops to the north-west, on the western side of Vincennes Bay, on Knox Coast, Wilkes Land. Delineated from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47). Named by USACAN after Cmdr. D.C. Nutt, USNR, who served as marine biologist on USN Operation Windmill (1947-48).

An ice-covered cape about 67 km west of Gauseberg, facing the West Ice Shelf. This feature marks the boundary between Princess Elizabeth Land and Wilhelm II Land. Discovered by the Western Base Party of AAE (1911-14). Named by Sir Douglas Mawson after Dr. Albrecht Penck, internationally known German geographer.

Photographed by ANARE in 1956. Named at the suggestion of members of the Soviet Expedition. The name means variable and probably refers to the nature of this ice coastline.

Twin rocky promontories on the western side of Watt Bay on the coast of George V Land. Discovered in 1912 by A A E under Sir Douglas Mawson who named it because of the large Cape pigeon colony there.

A rocky coastal bluff on the south west coast of Heard Island between Henderson Bluff and Cape Arkona. Named to commemorate the 1980 voyage of the MV Cape Pillar to the Island with the Australian National Mapping Expedition, 1980.

An ice-covered cape, the northernmost point of land on the Budd Coast in Wilkes Land. Delineated from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump and named Cape Poinsett by the USACAN after Joel Poinsett, US Secretary of War, 1837-41.

A colony of emperor penguins located on the eastern side of Cape Poinsett, Budd Coast, Wilkes Land. It was discovered in November 2019 by BAS in a satellite image taken in 2009. Note: emperor penguin colonies may not remain in one fixed location.

The northern extremity of Dixson Island. Discovered by AAE (1911-14) under Sir Douglas Mawson, who named it after Prof. J.A. Pollock of the Australian Antarctic Committee, 1929.

An ice cape on the Lars Christensen Coast, Mac.Robertson Land. Discovered on 12 February, 1931, by BANZARE under Sir Douglas Mawson who named it after Edgar J. Rouse of Sydney, who assisted the expedition with photographic equipment.

An ice cape about 66 kms north-east along the coast from Walkabout Rocks. The cape is about 5 kms wide. The feature was first named by Lars Christensen's Expedition, 1936-37 and appears on the Hansen series of maps dated 1946.

A cape about 2.25 kms due east of the easternmost point of Torckler Island in the Rauer Group. A low hummocky cape, the highest point being about 80 m in elevation. The eastern edge abuts the ice cap. Charted by the Soviet Antarctic Expedition in 1956.

A cape measuring about 0.8 by 0.3 kms at the southern end of the Edisto Channel between the Edisto Glacier Tongue and Currituck Island. It is 'V' shaped with the eastern arm steep and conical and the western arm low and flat. It was mapped by the Soviet Antarctic Expedition in 1956.

A high rocky bluff at the northern end of Ufs Island, about 19 km east of Cape Bruce on the coast of Mac.Robertson Land. Discovered on 18 February 1931 by BANZARE under Sir Douglas Mawson.

A cape on the eastern end of the Moscow University Ice Shelf which marks the boundary between the BANZARE and Sabrina Coasts of Wilkes Land. Delineated from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47) and named by USACAN after Samuel L. Southard, US Secretary of the Navy, 1823-29.

A cape at the eastern corner of the depression occupied by the Ninnis Glacier, on the coast of George V Land. Discovered by AAE (1911-14) under Sir Douglas Mawson, who named it after Sir Baldwin Spencer, Director of the National Museum, Melbourne in 1911.

A cape about 6 km east of Albov Rocks, on the western side of Porpoise Bay. Delineated from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump and named by USACAN after W. Spieden, purser on the sloop Peacock, one of the ships with the US Exploring Expedition (1939-42) under Lieut. (Later Rear Adm.) C. Wilkes, USN.
