All scientific data collected by the Australian Antarctic program (AAp) are eventually described in the Catalogue of Australian Antarctic and Subantarctic Metadata (CAASM). CAASM can be used to search through AAp data descriptions, and it also provides links to access publicly available datasets, which can either be immediately downloaded or obtained from the Australian Antarctic Data Centre (AADC).
Macquarie Island stream invertebrate survey site photos, taken 1992, 2008, 2010 and 2016. Photos are arranged in subdirectory folders by site number. Year and site are included in photo filenames.
Sites 1-15 were established in 1992, as reported in Marchant and Lillywhite (1994); map (Figure 1) and grid reference (Appendix 2). See metadata record: ASAC_555 (https://data.aad.gov.au/metadata/ASAC_555). Additional sites (17-21) were added in 2008, with sites 1-17 reported in Marchant et al. (2011); map (Figure 1) and location data (Supplementary material; https://www.publish.csiro.au/mf/mf10317). Sites 18-21 are otherwise unreported.
Photos at the top level of each site folder are the most useful for site/vegetation assessment. Additional photos are provided in subfolders named "SiteXX-additional-photos".
Provide visual record of sites at each survey period.
