All scientific data collected by the Australian Antarctic program (AAp) are eventually described in the Catalogue of Australian Antarctic and Subantarctic Metadata (CAASM). CAASM can be used to search through AAp data descriptions, and it also provides links to access publicly available datasets, which can either be immediately downloaded or obtained from the Australian Antarctic Data Centre (AADC).
In all, 15 sites on 12 streams were kick-sampled for invertebrates. Eleven fully aquatic taxa were found: a species of Iais (Isopoda: Janiridae); six species of oligochaetes (three enchytraeids, one tubificid, one naidid, one phreodrilid); a harpacticoid copepod; two nematode taxa; and Minona amnica, a turbellarian. Composition of this depauperate community changed little between sites, although one site disturbed by penguins had clearly fewer taxa. Aquatic insects (and fish) were absent, apart from three species of semi-aquatic diptera that occurred very sparsely. In terms of biomass, the streams were dominated by the oligochaetes.
Data are presence absence data.

Update 3 November 2015 by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre:
The grid coordinates given for the sites in the paper Marchant R., Lillywhite P. (1994) Survey of stream invertebrate communities on Macquarie Island. Australian Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research 45(4). 471-481 are inaccurate due to the inaccuracy of the map used to determine these coordinates.
Corrected grid coordinates and corresponding latitudes and longitudes have been estimated and are now included in the zip file available for download. See the readme file included in the zip file for further details.
