Es probable que este cabo haya sido avistado en 1902-1903 por la partida de J. Gunnar Andersson, de la Expedición Antártica Sueca de 1901-1903, al mando de Nordenskjöld. El FIDS lo cartografió y le puso el nombre descriptivo Bald Head cabeza calva en 1945. Es un cabo de piedra desnuda, de aproximadamente 150 metros de elevación, situado a 13 millas al W del cabo Burd, extremo SW de la península Tabarín, costa oriental de la península Luis Felipe.
