Fue cartografiada por el personal de la Discovery II en el año 1935. Probablemente, se le dio este nombre por Sir. James Clark Ross. En la costa SW de isla Nelson situada a 3 millas al SE de caleta Armonía en las islas Shetland del Sur. La punta está formada por una lengua baja de piedra que se interna en el mar.
