Théophile Adrien Auguste de Gerlache de Gomery (1832-1901), of the Belgian Army, father of the Commander of BeAE (Lecointe, map, 1899). Île August [sic] (Lecointe, 1900b, map facing p.132). August Insel (Stefan, 1900, map facing p.532). Auguste Island (Cook, 1900, map p.xx; BA chart 3205, 1.vi.1901; APC, 1960, p.2; BA chart 3560, 7.iv.1961).
