N of Holtedahl Bay, Graham Coast, was roughly mapped as an island by FAE, 1908-10, and named Île Férin after A. Férin, French Vice-Consul at the time in Ponta Delgada, Azores, who assisted the expedition (Charcot, 1910, p.366; 1912. Pl.1). Ferin Island (BA, 1916, photograph facing p.407; chart 3175, 1934). Ferin Öya (HA chart 1927). Férin Island (AGS map, [1929c]). Ferrin [sic] Island (Wilkins, 1929, map facing p.374). The feature was remapped as a headland by BGLE in 1935.
