in Dallmann Bay, Palmer Archipelago, was roughly charted by BeAE, 30 January 1898, and named Île Gand after the Belgian town Gand (Gent) which subscribed towards the expedition (Lecointe, map, 1899; Gerlache, 1900, p.420).
