SW entrance point of King George Bay, King George Island, was called Martins Head (q.v.) in error by DI (Herdman, 1932, chart 6); charted by DI in January 1937, when astronomical observations were obtained at the point; named descriptively Cape Lion's Rump (Hill and others, chart, 1937b; BA, 1948, p.151) or Lions Rump (Hill, 1937; APC, 1960, p.5; Hawkes, 1961, map p.3; BA chart 1774, 14.ix.1962).
