Narrative

An island of the Stanton Group off Mac.Robertson Land. Mapped from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37) and named Andöya by Norwegian cartographers. (see Hansen chart 6) Renamed after W.H. Oldham, magnetician at Mawson in 1955. First visited by ANARE party led by John Béchervaise in August, 1955.
