N entrance point of Thomson Cove (q.v.), Flandres Bay, Danco Coast, was roughly charted by BeAE, 11 February 1898, and named Cap Rahir after M. Rahir, Assistant Librarian of the Société Royale Belge de Géographie at the time (Lecointe, map, 1899; 1900a, map facing p.132). Cape Rahir (Cook, 1900, map p.xx; BA chart 3196, 12.xi.1948). Cape Rahir Peninsula (USHO, 1943, p.135). Cabo Rahir (Argentina. MM chart 106, 1949; Chile. IHA, 1974, p.237). Punta Thomson, in association with the cove (Argentina. MM chart Ñ, 1954).
