Narrative

The southernmost peak of the Rockefeller Mountains in King Edward VII Land, almost submerged in the ice cap. Discovered on 27 January 1929 by members of the Byrd AE, 1928-30, on an exploratory flight over this area. Named for Raymond Butler, a member of the party which occupied the Rockefeller Mountains Seismic Station of the US Antarctic Service Expedition during November and December 1940.
