A prominent peak about 1767m high, at the northern end of the north-south section of the divide between the Hobbs and Blue Glaciers, so called because of a balanced mass of gneiss which protrudes about 9m above the general profile of the southern slope of the mountain, with a goat-like silhouette when viewed from a distance. Climbed by the VUWAE, 1960-61, and named by them.
