The high snow-covered mesa-like upland, some 6 miles across, with an elevation of 2700m or more, lying between two of the principal tributaries of the Keltie Glacier. Discovered and photographed by the USN Squadron of VX-6 on the flight of 12-13 January 1956, and named by the US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names, for B C Haynes, meteorologist of the US Weather Bureau on US Navy Operation Highjump, 1946-47.
