A rounded summit, about 3785m high, in the Royal Society Range, south-west of McMurdo Sound, along the western side of the Ross Sea. Discovered by the NAE, 1901-04, which named this peak for Sir Joseph Hooker, renowned botanist and traveller, who had been naturalist with Ross's expedition, 1839-41.
