A broad, domed ice promontory on the western side of the Amery Ice Shelf. Plotted from air photographs taken from an ANARE aircraft in 1956. The region was first visited by an ANARE party led by D.R. Carstens in November, 1962. Named after I. Landon-Smith, glaciologist at Mawson in 1962, a member of the field party.
