A prominent plateau of snow and ice approximately 13.5km north of Bastion Hill. It has a flat area of about 13km² to the 1700m contour, and rises to approximately 1800m, considerably higher than the Brown Hills, which it overlooks to the south. Feature shown on: NZ AntTopo50-MM06
Discovered and named by the Victoria University of Wellington Antarctic Expedition (1962-63). Named after Bowling Green state University, Ohio, which allowed Professor Charles Clayton Rich (1922-2011) to join the expedition, in which he was deputy leader and glaciologist.
