A mountain rising to approximately 2024m above sea level, mainly ice-free, situated 11km northeast of Fault Bluff, east of the Finger Ridges, Cook Mountains.
Mapped from air photographs taken by the US Navy. Named by United States Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Julian P. Gudmundson U.S. Navy, explosive expert who wintered at Little America V in 1957. He blasted the foundation for the nuclear power plant at McMurdo Station during U.S. Navy Operation Deep Freeze 1961.
