A gneissic mountain between the Matusevich and Tomilin Glaciers in Oates Land. So named by the New Zealand Geological and Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-64) because three members of the party were forced to abandon their proposed survey and gravity station by a blizzard and after examining the geology sledged several kilometres back to their camp in thick drifting snow.
