Narrative

A flat-topped scarp, facing west, flanking the eastern side of the Lambert Glacier for about 130 km. Plateau-ice over-rides the escarpment from the east. Discovered by Flying Officer J. Seaton, RAAF, whilst on a photo reconnaissance flight in November, 1956. Named after Sir Douglas Mawson.
