Narrative

An island in the southern part of Newcomb Bay, Windmill Islands, east of McMullin Island and south of Kilby Island. Photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1947), the Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1956) and ANARE (1956, 1962 and 1963). The island was named after F. Bøving third officer on MV Thala Dan in 1965, who assisted in a hydrographic survey in the vicinity.
