A small island about 3.7 km north of the Shaw Islands in Casey Bay, Enderby Land. Photographed by ANARE in 1956 and the Soviet Antarctic Expedition in 1957. Named by the Soviet Expedition after N. Galkin, physician with the Bellingshausen Expedition (1819-21).
