Fue cartografiada en 1935 por personal de la Investigación Discovery, en la nave "Discovery II", al mando de Deacon. El nombre original, Harmony Point, corresponde al de la vecina caleta. En las cartas chilenas siempre ha figurado traducido al castellano. Punta situada en el extremo occidental de la isla Nelson, que forma el lado N de la entrada a la caleta Armonía, en la costa W de la isla Nelson, islas Shetland del Sur.
