separating Blaiklock Island from Arrowsmith Peninsula, Loubet Coast, was traversed and surveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in November 1949, when it was found to be blocked by an ice shelf (Jones Ice Shelf, q.v.), rising 3m above sea level; named after Harold David Jones (1919-2004), FIDS aircraft mechanic, "Stonington Island", 1947-50, who assisted in the survey (APC, 1955, p.12; BA, 1956, p.78; chart 3570, 21.ix.1957); photographed from the air by FIDASE in 1957.
