Photographed from the air by the RARE and charted from the ground by the FIDS during 1947. Named by the FIDS for Rt. Hon. (later Sir) Winston S. Churchill, M.P., British Prime Minister and leader of the War Cabinet which authorized the FIDS in 1943.
