Narrative

A broad ice-filled valley trending SW-NE. for about 60 mi between Borg Massif and the NE part of Kirwan Escarpment, in Queen Maud Land. Discovered by the GerAE under Ritscher, 1938-39, and named for German geographer Albrecht Penck. Maps of the GerAE incorrectly represent this feature with a N-S axis, but it was accurately mapped by the NBSAE under Giaever, 1949-52.
