This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The westernmost of Onogur islands off the NW coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands. Situated 1.17 km N of Misnomer Point, 760 m SE of Cornwall Island and 1.08 km W of Shipot Point. The feature is rocky, extending 630 m in SE-NW direction and 240 m wide. Separated from Grod Island by a 100 m wide passage. British mapping in 1968 and Bulgarian mapping in 2009. Named after the settlement of Kovach in Southern Bulgaria.
