This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The sharp point projecting 1.7 km into the head of Barilari Bay on Graham Coast in Graham Land. Situated 11.1 km SE of Vorweg Point, 10.2 km S of Duyvis Point, and 6.2 km NW of the highest point of Mezzo Buttress an offshoot of which forms the point. British mapping in 1971. Named after the settlements of Cherkovna in Northeastern Bulgaria.
