The portion of the E coast of the Antarctic Peninsula between Nordenskjöld Coast (Cape Fairweather) and Foyn Coast (Cape Alexander), Weddell Sea. Discovered during expedition 1893/94 (vessels 'Jason' and 'Hertha') under the Norwegian Captain Carl Anton Larsen, financed by the Hamburg Company Woltereck & Robertson.

E coast of Graham Land from Cape Fairweather to Cape Alexander, was roughly charted by Larsen in December 1893, when the name Kong Oscar II Land was applied to the part of the coast lying in c. 66°S, after Oscar II (1829-1907), King of Sweden, 1872-1907, and of Norway, 1872-1905 (Larsen, 1894a, map p.120). At the same time the name Moderlandet [=the mother land] was applied to part of the coast lying W of Jason Peninsula (Larsen, 1894a, p.121; Risting, 1929, p.35). Fue denominada en 1893 por el capitán C.A. Larsen quien le dio el nombre del Rey Óscar II de Suecia. Este tramo de la costa E de la península Tierra de O'Higgins se extiende desde el cabo Fairweather en 65° 00' S de latitud y longitud 61° 05' W a cabo Alexander en latitud 66° 44' S y longitud 62° 37' W. Esta costa se caracteriza por una serie de cordones montañosos transversales de cima aguda de piedra descubierta en forma parcial, que avanzan desde la meseta continental central hacia el oriente, separados entre sí por glaciares angostos que descargan en la barrera de hielos Larsen. Toda la costa queda en el interior de la barrera de hielos, alcanzando un ancho de 44 millas en este sector.
