between Valdivia Point and Brabazon Point, Hughes Bay, Danco Coast, was roughly charted by BeAE in January 1898; further charted by the whalers from 1911-12 and named Salvesen B. after Chr. Salvesen and Co., whalers of Leith, Scotland, who operated in this area (HA chart, 1928). Salvesen Bay (Wilkins, 1929, p.364). Salvesen Cove (USAAF chart [LR-74], 1942; BA chart 3205, 1945; APC, 1955, p.18; BA chart 3566, 16.x.1959). Salveson [sic] Cove (USAAF chart 1762, 1946). Caleta Salvesen (Argentina. MM chart 106, 1949; Pierrou, 1970, p.645; Chile. IHA, 1974, p.254). Baie Salveson [sic] (France. SHM chart 5452, 1951). The cove was photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57, and surveyed from the ground by FIDS from "Portal Point", 1957-58. Seno Campos Urquiza, presumably referring to the NW arm of the cove, after Contra-almte Campos Urquiza, of the Argentine Navy (Argentina. MD, 1978, letter C). |

La caleta fue delineada en forma parcial en las cartas de la Expedición Antártica Belga al mando de De Gerlache, 1897-1899.
