The Subglacial Highlands are within the Australian Antarctic Territory at the north-west end of the Wilkes Subglacial Basin. They run NNE-SSW and separate the Webb Subglacial Trench from the main part of the Wilkes Subglacial Basin. Discovered and mapped by radio echo sounding by the Scott Polar Research Institute. |

A group of subglacial highlands located E of Webb Subglacial Trench in the N end of Wilkes Subglacial Basin. The feature was delineated by the SPRI-NSF-TUD airborne radio echo sounding program, 1967-79, and was named after the Southern Cross, the expedition ship of BrAE, 1898-1900, led by Carsten E. Borchgrevink. |
