Situated 11.1 km SE of Vorweg Point, 10.2 km S of Duyvis Point, and 6.2 km NW of the highest point of Mezzo Buttress an offshoot of which forms the point. British mapping in 1971. Named after the settlements of Cherkovna in Northeastern Bulgaria.
