flowing ESE into Cabinet Inlet, Foyn Coast, following air photography by RARE and ground survey by FIDS from Hope Bay in 1947 was named, in association with similarly named features in the area, after Sir John Anderson (later 1st Viscount Waverley) (1882-1958), Lord President of the Council, 1940-43, and a member of the War Cabinet which authorized Operation Tabarin in 1943; Chancellor of the Exchequer, 1943-45 (BA chart 3570, 4.vi.1954; APC, 1955, p.4; DCS 601 sheet 66 62, 1955). Fue cartografiado por el FIDS y aerofotografiado por el RARE en diciembre de 1947. El nombre fue denominado por el FIDS, en memoria de Sir John Anderson, Miembro del Parlamento, Lord Presidente del Concejo y Miembro del Gabinete de Guerra Británico. Este nombre, que permaneció derogado desde 1974, fue reactivado en julio de 1986. Glaciar fuertemente hundido, de unas 12 millas de largo, fluyendo en dirección SE hacia el lado W de la ensenada Reales Cédulas, entre el cabo Casey y la punta Balder, en la costa E de la península Tierra de O'Higgins. |

A line of rocky cliffs about 7 km long on the northern part of Fisher Massif. A point on the cliffs 1,135 m high, was occupied as a survey station by John Manning, surveyor, with the ANARE Prince Charles Mountains survey party in January, 1969. So named because of the great amount of turbulence caused by updraft currents. |
