Fue descubierta y denominada por la Expedición Sueca de 1901-1904, al mando del comandante Otto Nordenskjöld. Isla de 12 cables de extensión, con un cerro de poca altura en cada extremo, está situada en el centro de una ensenada que se abre al SE del cabo Wellmet, en el extremo N de isla Vega. Sus laderas acantiladas de piedra desnuda, se elevan a 207 metros de altura, caen a pique hacia el mar.

Narrow island 1 mi long with a low summit on each end, lying in the center of a small bay 1 mi SE of Cape Well-met, northern Vega Island, S of the NE end of Antarctic Peninsula. Discovered and named by the SwedAE, 1901-04, under Nordenskjold.
