A small plateau which is snow-covered except for the Kappen Cliffs, an almost vertical rock scarp marking its southern side. A small, mainly snow-covered plateau with an almost vertical rock scarp marking its southern side, standing on the W side of Granite Harbor, just N of the terminus of Mackay Glacier, in Victoria Land. The plateau rises gently toward the NW to the heights of Mount Marston. Mapped and named by the BrAE, 1910-13. "Kar" is a Turkish word meaning snow. |
