It rises on the polar plateau westward of Mesa Range and takes its name from Rennick Bay where the glacier reaches the sea. The eastern part of the bay was discovered from the ship Terra Nova, of the British Antarctic Expedition (1910-13) under Scott. |

A mountain about 11 km SSW of Magga Peak in Oates Land. On 16 January 1840, passed Midshipman Reynolds and Eld on the Peacock, one of the ships of the USEE under Wilkes, reported hills in this direction. The hills were plotted on Wilkes' charts in about 67 degrees S., 156 degrees E. It has not been possible to positively identify the feature named Reynolds Peak by Wilkes, the name has therefore been arbitrarily applied to this feature. |
