This Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image mosaic is a product of the joint NASA and Canadian Space Agency project to map Antarctica with RADARSAT-1. More than 400 images were used to build the mosaic. They were collected during the fall of 1997 when the normally right-looking SAR was rotated in orbit to enable acquisition of the first high resolution radar images of Antarctica from space. |
