Changeover voyage
This Norwegian sealing vessel, sub-chartered from Expeditions Antarctiques Francaises relieved Heard Island. Rubber pontoons towed by motor boats were used to land personnel and stores. The main features of the Island were photographed to revise existing charts and maps. Big Ben was active and a new crater was observed.
