Changeover voyage
On this early relief voyage late in the year, the Macquarie Island wintering party was changed over in a record five days enabling the planned operation on the continent to be carried out in early summer. One cow and 13 sheep were off loaded. Cargo was landed at Hurd Point in difficult conditions. A search for a reef about 25 miles off North Head, reported twice over the last 100 years was made.
