All scientific data collected by the Australian Antarctic program (AAp) are eventually described in the Catalogue of Australian Antarctic and Subantarctic Metadata (CAASM). CAASM can be used to search through AAp data descriptions, and it also provides links to access publicly available datasets, which can either be immediately downloaded or obtained from the Australian Antarctic Data Centre (AADC).

Description

Summary of surveying work conducted on RSV Nuyina resupply Voyage 4 11 May – 7 June 2025.
Surveys conducted:
• Completed GNSS survey control audit of the station including garden bay benchmarks
• GNSS survey of existing infrastructure building footprints and floor levels
• GNSS survey of infrastructure changes since 2024 survey – bunkhouse, temporary accommodation pods, combined instrument hut, existing fuel farm, gravel stockpile and stake out proposed new bulk fuel
• Levelling of tide gauges to permanent survey benchmarks in Garden Bay
• Terrestrial laser scanning of station buildings for mapping inside and out including incinerator, mess, science, biology and boat house
• Drone mounted LIDAR surveys of isthmus in three missions south, central and north for decision making for the new station for MISP
• Drone mounted LIDAR survey to collect data for land slip monitoring for Parks and MISP.
• Drone mounted LIDAR to map suitable drop zones for the delivery of cargo by plane
• Drone mounted LIDAR to map coastal erosion and future station site survey.
• Baseline line scans, installation and configuration of a landslip monitoring scanner for remote monitoring of North Head landslip areas.

Concurrent to this scope of survey works, the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) conducted operations with their medium lift Calisto 50 drone carrying a Riegl bathymetric lidar sensor to collect terrestrial and shallow water bathymetric data. This was also under the 5202 Mapping project.
