This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

There is a saucer shaped gap on the northern coast of Huaxi Bandao, which has a length of about 30 meters and a width of only a dozen meters, and forms a little bay. Looking down from the plane, it's like a monster with its mouth opened. It was named when aerial photos surveying and mapping in 1992.
