Origin

This name originates from New Zealand. It is part of the New Zealand Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

This peak, 2316m high, was ascended in order to complete the survey of the Hood Glacier. The Peak is due east of Wedge Face from whence it derives its name, and although it is not quite the highest peak on this massif it commands a clear panorama of the Beardmore and Hood Glaciers to the north. Named by the NZ Alpine Club Antarctic Expedition, 1959-60, on 2 January 1960.
