This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

An isolated nunatak lying 7 miles west-northwest of Mount Brecher on the north side of Quonset Glacier, in the Wisconsin Range, Horlick Mountains. Mapped by USGS from surveys and USN aerial photographs, 1960-64. Named by US-ACAN after Raymond R. Spiers, a cook at the U.S. Naval Air Facility, McMurdo Sound, 1956 winter party; member of the construction party which built Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, 1956-57 season; Byrd Station, 1959 winter party.
