This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky peak rising to 224 m on the N coast of Rugged Island off the W coast of Byers Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. Situated 1.04 km W of Herring Point, 830 m N of San Stefano Peak, 3.9 km ESE of Cape Sheffield, and 700 m SE of Ivan Vladislav Point formed by an offshoot of the peak. Spanish mapping in 1992 and Bulgarian in 2009. Named after the medieval town of Cherven and its successor, the modern settlement of Cherven in Northeastern Bulgaria.
