Narrative

A beach of sand, shingle and rock on the north coast west of Compton Glacier, Heard Island. The feature is named after Dr Alan R. Gilchrist, medical officer, 1948 ANARE Expedition to Heard Island. The name was proposed by the 1948 ANARE.
