A mountain about 600 m high, about 7 km south-west of Mt. Rivett, on the Mawson Coast of Mac.Robertson Land. Land was seen by BANZARE (1929-31) during an aeroplane flight on 31 December, 1929. The area was visited by BANZARE on 13 February, 1931, when a landing was made at Scullin Monolith. Named after Dr E. Marsden, Director of DSIR, New Zealand. This name was applied on Mawson's maps to what is now called Mt Rivett. The position of this feature was fixed by D.R. Carstens, surveyor at Mawson in 1962.
