This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.

Narrative

The high point, about 670 metres high near the centre of the Laurens Peninsula, Heard Island. Named after Lt-Cmdr George M. Dixon, RANVR, Commanding Officer of HMAS Labuan (formerly LST 3501) which landed and relieved the 1948 and 1949 parties of ANARE.
